As you may already know, the United States issued a new travel advisory recently in regards to its citizens traveling to the country of Mexico. And while the security alerts that are in place for Mexico as a whole should certainly be taken seriously, we are happy to share that the regions where Tafer Luxury Residences are located (including Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and Los Cabos) have not been included on the list of places to avoid. Due to their immense natural beauty, stunning beaches and inviting sunny weather, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and Los Cabos have become some of Mexico’s most beloved destinations for incredible vacations.
Puerto Vallarta has long been famed for being one of the friendliest and safest cities in the country, and not surprisingly, it has not been included in this current travel advisory list, nor was it on the previous list. Meanwhile, the travel warnings that had been placed on Cancun and Los Cabos were recently reduced, with no restrictions currently in place. No matter which of these destinations you choose, you can rest assured you will be safe when you are staying at any of the Tafer Luxury Residences properties.
Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and Los Cabos Focus on Safety
Since Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and Los Cabos are such popular destinations for tourists to visit, the local officials in each of these areas have made safety a top priority. Travelers flock to each of these regions from around the world every year, and it is important that they all remain safe and secure for each and every visitor. There are local, state and federal police forces that dutifully patrol these areas to ensure your safety. It might take some getting used to, but seeing the abundant police officers always out on patrol is actually a great thing- it means that they are dedicated to keeping these regions safe for tourists and locals alike.
Stay Safe While Traveling
As you prepare to embark on a vacation journey, it is always smart to brush up on some basic travel safety tips, regardless of your destination. The following safety tips are useful whether you will be traveling to Mexico or any other far-flung corner of the globe (or even in your home country!). Using common sense and staying alert are the most basic yet helpful tools you will have in your arsenal when traveling. If you are heading to local nightclubs, bars or casinos, be cautious and designate at least one person in your travel group to remain sober and keep an eye on everyone else. When going out late at night, it is also a good idea to stay together rather than splitting up. If you are planning to drive while in Mexico, you should do so during daylight hours. Since it is always better to be safe than sorry, plan to take a taxi or Uber when heading anywhere at night. Do not wear flashy or expensive-looking jewelry or watches that may draw unwanted attention, and avoid carrying more cash on you than is needed. When making a visit to an ATM (we strongly suggest only using ATMs which are found at reputable local banks or onsite at your resort), be sure to shield the keypad and screen as you withdraw your money.
